How To Deal with Internet Trolls and Haters

by Christian Duque

About two weeks ago I was tagged on a wall post from fellow Iron Magazine staff writer, Matt Weik, on Facebook. Matt is a very talented writer and well respected figure in the fitness industry, so naturally, when he tagged me on a post, I had to see what was up. Much to my chagrin, however, it was a post asking for answers to a very irrational situation.

Shaun Clarida Should Compete in Open & 212 at The 2022 Mr. Olympia!

by Christian Duque

As many of you know, I’m not a fan of the Special Invite. To me, the Mr. Olympia should be reserved for the best in the world. Competitors should either be former Mr. O’s – or – they should have qualified by being Top 5 the year prior, having won a pro show during the calendar year, or qualified through points. Back when the contest first started, you had guys who had won the Universe, the World’s, and other top titles, all battling to be the best. This is why the Olympia is known as the Superbowl of Bodybuilding.

Regan Grimes Odd Interview with Dennis James

by Christian Duque

I’m sure many of you saw the Regan Grimes interview with Dennis James. Others have seen the reactions to it, from Chris Aceto to Nick Trigili and others. Ever since Big Ramy trained there to other greats like Roelly Winklaar and of course, 2019 Mr. Olympia Brandon Curry, many in the American bodybuilding community have been skeptical. For years, everyone would make references to the “anabolic chicken” there, suggesting that the facility and/or the country it was located in, had access to PED’s that no one in the world knew about. Other outlandish theories included innovative and top secret training methods, SARM’s, and experimental concoctions so out there they’d even stump top chemists. This banter would go on and on, as people tried to figure out why so many bodybuilders who went there, would come back looking phenomenal.

Yellow, Pink, Or Blue – Artificial Sweeteners

by Christian Duque

Whether you’re doing keto, low fat, or just trying to eat sensibly, most people rely on diet sodas, sugar-free energy drinks, various desserts and/or meal replacement bars. Many of theese products avoid using sugar, while still delivering on great taste. There’s three major non-nutritive sugar alternatives, but there’s actually eight to choose from. There’s also sugar alcohols, which we may discuss in a future article.

Why Are So Many Bodybuilders Crybabies Over Media Coverage?

by Matt Weik

Never in my life have I seen athletes behave like a bunch of crybabies when the media critiques their performance. And it seems these days that Nick’s Strength and Power is taking the brunt of it. I wouldn’t say I’m friends with Nick in any sense of the word, I’ve messaged with him a few times, but that’s the extent of our “friendship.” If you were to mention my name to him, he’d probably have no idea who I was.

Why Phil Heath Shouldn’t Officially Retire!

by Christian Duque

Over the course of the last month, I’ve been receiving messages on Facebook, DM’s on IG, and even comments on YouTube, all asking me the same question. The viewers want to know what my thoughts are on 7x Mr. Olympia Phil “The Gift” Heath getting smaller. Just a couple days ago NS&P released a video on Phil downsizing and countless other networks have given this story varying degrees of coverage.

RxMuscle, Nick’s Strength & Power Called Out!

by Christian Duque

With all the deaths in bodybuilding as of late, it seems like bad news just keeps on coming. From John Meadows to Phil Hernon to John Meadows then George “Da Bull” Peterson and Shawn “Flexatron” Rhoden, just to name a few, the fitness community has been rocked by deaths throughout 2021. We’ve also lost a large number of women, from multiple divisions, which only makes matters worse. The industry has never had a year like 2021 and it just seems like it’s been nonstop bad news.
