William Bonac Placed Higher, “All Alone”

by Christian Duque

First and foremost, let’s qualify the title statement. Bonac wasn’t “all alone” at the 2019 Mr. Olympia, but that line deals with a bit of taunting by Olympia emcee and Bodybuilding Hall of Famer Shawn Ray, who couldn’t help but asking The Conqueror about his “Instagram Movie.” Bonac was totally caught off guard, much like a deer in headlights, when Ray asked him about the IG piece. He hadn’t a clue, nor did many of the other panelists. To put things into perspective, the press conference this year had been very goodnatured, it went very easy on any controversey, and without saying it was boring, I will say it was very PC.

Yamamoto Pro Cup Will Be Bigger Than the Olympia?

by Matt Weik

It’s hard to see past the glitz and glamour of the Olympia production, but at the end of the day, people come to see the competitors on stage. And with some key individuals not at this year’s Olympia, it forces them to get excited about the next competition they will all be at. Which brings up the next pro show. Everyone has been talking about the IFBB Yamamoto Pro Cup being held in Padova, Italy the week after the Olympia. So, I wanted to toss my two cents in as well and discuss what I see it turning out to be and my reasoning.

Fox News Publishes Dishonest Story About Death from Protein Use

by Matt Weik

I’m going to preface this article by saying I’m an independent who does not side primarily on the left or right side of politics but when I’m looking for news, I DO generally watch Fox News. But with that being said, I’m absolutely annoyed with the dishonest news story they published by contributor Alexandria Hein regarding the death of a female due to a “protein-packed diet.”

We’re With You You, Nathan De Asha!

by Christian Duque

He was ready, sharper than ever, and poised to go all the way. Could he have won the Olympia? He absolutely would’ve been a name to watch!! I think he would have been a serious contender for the Top 6 and when you’re talking about The Superbowl of Bodybuilding, that group of six men, represents a group of guys, who any one of which could conceivably walk away with the Sandow. What separates 2nd from 3rd or 5th from 6th could be microscopic; in fact, sometimes, having heart and the will to win can push you up a placing or two. It’s really that close!! Sadly, Nathan De Asha aka The Prophecy finds himself jammed up with a case in the UK, that will keep him out of the 2019 Mr. Olympia, but he didn’t keep the fans in the dark as to why.

We Told Ya So – Phil Heath is OUT!

by Christian Duque

Fans all over the world were shocked when the news broke that 7x Mr. Olympia Phil “The Gift’ Heath was officially not doing the biggest contest in bodybuilding. His diehard fans, in particular, hoped that Heath would return to reclaim the title (they believe) he narrowly lost last year. If we were only to take Phil’s demeanor following the contest, then there wouldn’t be any real reason these folks would feel so let down, but there’s quite a bit of room for debate insofar as to what Heath’s true intentions were.

Iranian Bodybuilding Legend, HADI CHOOPAN, Will Compete!

by Christian Duque

Shockwaves reverberated throughout the world of bodybuilding and fitness, with the news that 212 Bodybuilding legend Hadi Choopan will be competing at the 2019 Mr. Olympia. Hadi was always considered to be a major threat to 212 Champ James “Flex” Lewis and many believe he’s the only man who could stand in the way of Derek Lunsford claiming the vacant throne this year. In terms of foreign policy, however, Iran has perhaps the weakest relations with the United States of any other country in the world.

by Matt Weik

If you’re working out, you’re already ahead of the game compared to many of the people around you.
