Classic Physique For The Win!

by Christian Duque

The Classic Physique Division has been the talk of the town since its inception just a few years ago. It’s the division that celebrates the artistic look bodybuilding was initially all about, that flowing, symmetrical physique, the tiny waist, broad shoulders, and complete balance. Classic competitors fall into poses like you or I would put one put in front of the other, they have a way of posing that seems natural, like second-nature.

by Christian Duque

Natural Bodybuilding has grown by leaps and bounds over the years, but 2019 marked a key moment in the history of the sport, with the first ever IFBB Pro League Ben Weider Pro Show in Montreal, Canada. The contest, named after legendary IFBB President and visionary Ben Weider, set the bar incredibly high. A huge part of why the show was such a huge success was that it was promoted by NPC Mid Atlantic Zone Chairman Gary Udit and Canadian Physique Alliance President Ron Hache.

Can Roelly Winklaar Ever Win the Mr. Olympia?

by Matt Weik

This is a very interesting topic as a couple of years ago I would have told you absolutely. However, as time goes by, I see his window of opportunity getting smaller and smaller for Roelly Winklaar. This year is a perfect example. With a weak showing of competitors (Phil was out, Ramy was out, Shawn was out), it was truly Roelly’s time to shine and take advantage of the moment and he fell way short. So short, that he almost fell outside of the top 5.

Flexatron, Big Ramy to Compete at the 2020 Arnold Classic?

by Christian Duque

The world of bodybuilding and fitness is on fire as rumors seem to be confirmed that both Shawn “Flexatron” Rhoden and Big Ramy are both wanting to do the 2020 Arnold Classic. A new video from Nick Miller (Nick’s Strength And Power) has added considerable fuel to the fire. The fact that these reports are coming out from a channel as reputable as is, also increase the legitimacy. There’s several factors that make this particular contest unique. The 2020 Ms. Olympia Will Be The Best EVER!

by Christian Duque

The party’s over!! It’s looking like the ladies who dominated the sport, many of which have either partially or fully retired from the stage, are looking to make historic comebacks for the 2020 Ms. O. The big question is, how will they fare against the newer, younger champions, like Alina Popa, Helle Trevino, and Theresa Invancik. There are some that say the sport has changed, that it’s moved in a new direction, and that that the champions of yesteryear won’t be competitive today.

by Matt Weik

Olympia Weekend has come and gone and there has been much reflection after the show from all parties involved. Was the 2019 Mr. Olympia Weekend a success? 2019 Mr. Olympia Takeaways

by Geoff Roberts

The 2019 Mr. Olympia is officially down and digested. Coming into the show there were two distinct camps. Those who felt the absence of a reigning champ and several other top guys would make the show more exciting, and those who felt these absences would put a serious damper on this years show. Now that the show has come and passed it’s obvious to me that the latter group was correct. When the man who wins bodybuilding’s greatest title is arguably the third best bodybuilder in the world, the level of excitement has a lower ceiling than usual. That said, there were some bright spots over the weekend, including overwhelming anticipation running into the 2020 Olympia.
