WHY DO SUPPLEMENT BRANDS FORGET ABOUT CUSTOMERS AFTER AGE 35?

by Matt Weik

The supplement industry is a booming market with steady growth each year. New supplements are being added to portfolios in hopes of stealing customers away from competition as well as increasing revenue by introducing something exciting that can help customers achieve their goals. Supplement brands tend to focus on the 18-35 demographic and the majority of that demographic is focused on men.

WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF PERSONALITIES USING FAKE WEIGHTS?

by Matt Weik

For some odd reason, personalities in the industry are using fake weights. And I’m not here to discriminate, it goes both ways – men and women. What I’m left scratching my head over is what the actual point is of using fake weights? I mean, congrats that you do one lift that looks impressive, but then when you’re training without using fake weights, your strength is diminished. Do they not think other people wouldn’t catch on and even call them out?

COULD THERE EVER BE ANOTHER MUSCLE BEACH?

by Christian Duque

This is a very interesting question, indeed, especially with the unexpected passing of our good friend Ric Drasin. One of the things that Ric always said on his videos was that Muscle Beach was a scene that could never be recreated again. Back in those days, life was simple. Guys woke up, they trained, maybe ran on the beach and ate. They ate a high protein, high fat, and nearly carbfree meals. Oftentimes, they’d go to the Germans or different burger joints. They’d have beef patties, eggs, and sometimes cheese. Rarely would you see a tomato slice or any carbs on their plate. They’d wake up go train, have a protein drink, maybe head over to the marina, grab a meal, then lay out on the beach and tan. Sometimes, they’d run on the beach for some exercise, but it wasn’t so much for doing cardio, it was just fun.

SHOULD ROOKIES COMPETE IMMEDIATELY?

by Christian Duque

This is a very interesting question. It’s a query that could be answered with Bob Cicherillo’s, now, coin phrase “it’s all about apples and oranges.” When you stop and think about it, that phrase sums up everything in bodybuilding, from judging to – if and when a rookie should compete.

DID GYMSHARK BITE OFF MORE THAN THEY COULD CHEW WITH DISTASTEFUL COMMENTS?

by Matt Weik

Where do I even begin with this article? To say I’m disappointed in Gymshark is an understatement. Sure, you could say, “No one cares about your opinion, Matt, they are a billion-dollar company.” And you’d be correct. However, looking at their Instagram page comments, I’d say there are thousands of people who agree with me and are angry at their poor and distasteful words.

EMPLOYEE UPROAR: JOE ROGAN IS TRYING TO BE CENSORED BY SPOTIFY?

by Matt Weik

As a content creator, I’m not a fan of censorship, and it’s something I’ve discussed previously in various articles that have been published. That being said, I’m no Joe Rogan, and it appears as if Spotify employees are trying to push for Spotify to drastically edit and censor Joe Rogan’s content once his contract officially starts.

WHAT IF NICK WALKER UPSETS BIG RAMY IN CHICAGO?

by Christian Duque

For this article to even have a shred of a chance of happening, a few things needs to take place. For starters, Big Ramy would have to actually compete in Chicago. As it stands, we don’t even know if The Egyptian Phenom has serious plans of doing the 2020 Mr. Olympia. After his impressive first-ever Arnold Classic, taking a strong Top 3 to past champions Dexter “The Blade” Jackson and William “The Conqueror” Bonac, Ramy may very well call it a day on 2020. The Arnold was his first contest with new guru Chad “The Diet Doc” Nichols and it might be wiser to wrap up a chaotic year. That being said, Big Ramy is a competitor who’s finished as high 2nd place at the Olympia (2017) and he’s always been a contender for the Sandow.
